Theobald Software: On Course for Growth with a New Leadership Team
As of September 1, 2024, we have strengthened our leadership team, marking another important milestone in the history of Theobald Software. Dr. Thomas Bruggner is stepping into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), taking over from Peter Wohlfarth, who is transitioning to Chief Operating Officer (COO). We’re also excited to welcome Michael Bässler as our first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO). These changes support our strategic development and set us up for future success.
Our new CEO, Dr. Thomas Bruggner, brings more than 20 years of experience in the global IT market in North America, Europe and Asia. He comes with strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of SAP, private equity, mergers & acquisitions, sales and go-to-market, as well as a proven track record of growing software businesses, including their introduction into new markets and business areas. With leadership roles at companies such as Conceptboard, Basis Technologies, Oracle, and SAP, we’re looking forward to leveraging his expertise as we expand into new markets.
Peter Wohlfarth, who has been our General Manager since mid-2020 and previously held roles as Proxy Holder and Head of Marketing, is now taking on the role of COO. In this new position, Peter will focus on Human Resources and Operational Excellence, preparing us to meet the growing challenges of organizational structure and processes. He’ll also continue driving initiatives around team development and process optimization to boost efficiency.
To further strengthen our leadership, we’re introducing the position of Chief Technology Officer for the first time. Joining us in this role is Michael Bässler, who has previously worked as Chief Software Architect at Breakwater Solutions and various leadership positions at IBM. Michael will guide us through our transformation to become a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider. Michael will focus on the development of innovative cloud solutions and the expansion of SaaS offerings. Additionally, Michael serves as a mentor at KI-Garage, a state-wide program of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation that promotes innovative start-up ideas in the field of artificial intelligence, an area of increasing importance for Theobald Software.
COO Peter Wohlfarth explains, “This strategic realignment of our leadership team is the next logical step in our company’s growth. With Thomas and Michael, we are gaining two experienced management experts with whom we will position Theobald Software for the future and develop it further for growth.”
“I am very much looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that await me at Theobald Software,” adds CEO Dr. Thomas Bruggner. “The company has excellent potential and I am excited to shape our growth journey together with the team.”
Our new CTO, Michael Bässler, adds, “We live in a fast-moving world. To be successful, we need to be agile and constantly evolving. The future is full of opportunities and I’m looking forward to seize them with the team at Theobald Software.”
At Theobald Software, our goal is to continue growing and expanding internationally. In the coming months and years, we plan to focus on strengthening partnerships and advancing our transformation into a leading Software-as-a-Service provider.
