Recap and highlights of the Theobald Software Community Day 2024
We did it! The first-ever Theobald Software Community Day took place successfully on June 6th. This event was not only a celebration of Theobald Software’s 20th anniversary but also an opportunity to start building a community with our partners, customers, and other interested parties, fostering regular exchange. In this blog post, we’re excited to share exclusive insights into the planning process, the event itself, and the highlights from our Community Day.
From planning to event day: Successes and challenges
The planning for this event began back in October 2023. Initially, we planned to hold the event in person at the V8 Hotel in MOTORWORLD, Böblingen, to facilitate direct interaction between customers, partners, and other attendees. However, after receiving numerous requests from interested parties, we decided to switch the Community Day to an online event, making it easier for more people to join. Thanks to the flexibility and adaptability of our team, we managed to plan and execute a full online event just ten days before the event date. This shift to a virtual format also allowed us to triple our registration numbers.
A huge shout-out to the team at OneShotFilms , who ensured the high quality of our livestream. The professional camera crew was involved throughout the planning and technical execution stages, significantly contributing to the success of our Community Day. A heartfelt thank you to the team! After months of planning, the day finally arrived. On June 6th at 9:00 AM, the Theobald Software Community Day went live.
Welcome, introduction, and updates at the Theobald Software Community Day
The program kicked off with a welcome from our management team. Our CEO Peter Wohlfarth and CRO Dieter Schmitt officially opened our first Community Day.
Along with a brief overview of the day’s schedule, they reflected on the past 20 years of our company’s history. They discussed the changes over the years, including the spin-off of a subsidiary and the company’s sale. These transitions have allowed us to grow and stay true to our mission of remaining a leader in SAP integration technology, providing high-quality products, and maintaining close relationships with our customers and partners. Peter and Dieter particularly emphasized the consistency within our team and portfolio, and our stable position in the niche market of SAP integration, especially in a fast-changing and dynamic industry.
The main goal of the Community Day was, as the name suggests, to build a community. Even though we transformed it from an in-person event to an online one, we still enabled networking and interaction among attendees and with us. For this reason, many of the presentations were delivered by our customers and partners, alongside our own.
Data replication with Table CDC
In a technical session, Khoder Elzein, our Presales and Product Manager, shared first-hand insights into the benefits of SAP process integration and how our Table CDC component helps save time and resources within a company.
During a live demo, he showcased how the component can reduce the amount of data transferred to the latest changes and most current data, which can then be transferred to the target database.
Efficient SAP data analysis with Xtract for Alteryx
At the same time, Simon Rech from Technical Sales presented how Xtract for Alteryx enables efficient SAP data analysis. After a brief introduction, Simon explained how companies can gain valuable insights from their SAP data by extracting it into Alteryx, without having to go through complex and time-consuming processes.
Through specific use cases, Simon demonstrated practical applications and the benefits Xtract for Alteryx offers companies. The focus of the presentation was on SAP migration and how our solution can specifically support this process. In a live demo, he showcased the various features and advantages of our interface solution.
Individual use cases from our customers and partners
The program continued with presentations from our customers Symrise and HSP, as well as our partners Board, Alteryx, Qunis, SVA and Oraylis, who exciting insights into individual real-world use cases. Following these presentations, there were networking sessions where attendees could engage and connect with our customers, partners, sales and partner managers, and our management team.
Roadmap and future product development
In the final session, our product management team provided exclusive insights into the ongoing development of our products. During a panel discussion, our CRO Dieter Schmitt, CPO Christoph Schuler, and Software Consultant and Cloud Expert Christian Tauchmann discussed our roadmap and future developments. They offered a detailed look at our plans and goals for the upcoming months.
Our roadmap outlines our product development for a specific period, usually the next 12 months. It serves as an internal communication tool to inform various stakeholders and teams and also shows our customers the direction in which Theobald Software is heading. Our roadmap is strongly guided by the needs of our customers and partners, as well as our company goals, market trends, and technical feasibility. Currently, we are focusing on four main areas:
- Software partnerships: We are concentrating on strengthening our collaborations with existing partners to further improve our integrations, while also seeking new partnerships to expand our market offerings.
- SAP data extraction: We are continuing to develop our Xtract products, which focus on efficient data extraction from SAP systems.
- Cloud integration: Our goal is to offer SAP integration as a cloud service in the future, enabling our customers to work even more flexibly and efficiently.
- Common platform: We are working on integrating the capabilities of our various products into a common platform, allowing us to combine the benefits of both solutions and offer our customers a more comprehensive and powerful solution.
Moving forward, we want to ensure that our product development continues to meet our customers’ needs and expectations, allowing us to remain a leader in SAP integration and provide the best possible solutions. We greatly appreciate the positive feedback we received about the event’s format and content and would like to thank our team and all the speakers who contributed to the program!
