KION Group IT is the internal IT service provider of the KION Group – the world’s second-largest and Europe’s leading supplier of industrial trucks and supply-chain solutions. The KION Group includes well-known brands such as Linde Material Handling, STILL, Baoli, Fenwick, and Dematic. The company employs more than 42,000 people and serves customers in over 100 countries across nearly all industries, from automotive and retail to logistics.
With its products and digital solutions, the KION Group ensures that material flows around the world are moved, stored, and distributed efficiently. In addition to developing and manufacturing forklifts and warehouse equipment, the company focuses heavily on intelligent supply-chain and automation solutions.
KION Group IT’s mission is to ensure the efficiency and competitiveness of the KION Group through stable,scalable, and integrated IT systems. To secure this performance long term, the extraction of data from SAP BW systems into the Microsoft environment also had to be guaranteed.
“The business decided on a Microsoft-based Business Intelligence solution around 15 years ago. So we in IT had to find a reliable and high-performance way to bring SAP data into the Microsoft world,” recalls Sven Rötschke, Manager Business Intelligence Service at KION Group IT.

The documentation was also rated as practical and helpful, enabling teams to resolve many topics independently and run operations efficiently.
The interface has become a central component of financial reporting. Several hundred users access the provided data during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings. SAP data is updated multiple times a day based on business needs, and during high-intensity periods even in 15-minute intervals.
Outlook
UiPath plans to extend its use of Xtract Core with incremental extraction and scheduling capabilities to further enhance automation.
