BRG Sports is a leading designer, developer and marketer of sports equipment and accessories that enhance athletic performance and protection. With Bell, Riddell, Giro and Blackburn, the company’s brand portfolio sets the standard for innovation and excellence in football as well as snow, action and power sports. The company is headquartered in California and has 32 locations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe & Asia.
BRG Sports started tagging football helmets in their manufacturing and repair facilities using RFID technology. Each helmet has an RFID tag, identifying the helmet’s components and the player. Initially, there was no process in place to efficiently manage and consolidate this information. Data was stored in different places, including SAP, and users in warehouse operations or sales had to go to different systems and multiple screens in SAP to find the data they needed, which was very time consuming and error prone. Another challenge was to have access to helmet data in different locations, e.g. at schools, and in real-time.

Solution with yunIO
BRG Sports decided to develop a new application which could be made available to their warehouse operations and over 250 sales reps on different devices. Using an RFID reader, each helmet can be scanned, and the application will retrieve the associated component data directly from SAP, in real-time. The application was developed using Nintex Forms to display and capture data, and Nintex Automation Cloud to streamline and automate the business process.

Sales reps can deliver better service while reaching more clients.
With yunIO and the integration into the Nintex platform, SAP data can be displayed in forms, for example in drop-down lists or text fields, and SAP data can be updated directly based on user input.
