Heytex
Customer & challenge
The Heytex Group, a DBAG (Deutsche Beteiligungs AG) company, is a global leader in the development and production of high-quality, functionalized technical textiles with production facilities in Germany, theNetherlands, China and the United States. For more information, see https://heytex.com.
Historically, Heytex implemented various solutions on a SharePoint server, first using InfoPath and later Nintex Forms and Nintex Workflow. A switch to Microsoft Power Platform was planned as part of the company’s IT modernization strategy. This required an interface for data exchange between Microsoft Power Platform and SAP.
“For me, yunIO is the next step in the evolution of interfaces. It makes it very fast and really easy to tap into tables or function modules in SAP. I don’t even need 15 minutes to make SAP data available in the Microsoft Power Platform.”
Ronald Dartsch, Head of IT Department der Heytex Holding GmbH
Solution with yunIO
The connectors available from SAP did not appeal to Dartsch. He found them too slow and limited in functionality. Dartsch set out to find an alternative solution, and was intrigued by yunIO – a solution from Theobald Software that enables a connection between SAP and cloud based applications. “I’ve done detailed evaluations of interfaces for SAP data transfer in the past. The solutions from Theobald Software were clearly the best. That’s why I wanted to work with Theobald Software on this use case,” said Dartsch, who decided on the latest technology: yunIO. “I was able to use yunIO as a beta customer before the first official release,” he said. “That put me in especially close contact with Theobald Software, so I was able during the final development process to provide input on our perspectives and requirements as a customer.” After a thorough test phase that lasted about two months, yunIO went into operational use at Heytex.
Challenge
Exchanging data between SAP ECC 6.0 and
Microsoft Power Platform
Added value
Easy integration of SAP tables and functions with
Microsoft Power Platform
Heytex has seen the value of yunIO in different areas of application, including the provision of article master data from SAP for example for creating customer complaints and the retrieval of customer data for an advertising app. Because of the flexibility of yunIO, all solutions previously provided on the SharePoint server can be migrated to the Microsoft Power Platform by 2023. In addition, these services can be easily replicated as requirements change. For example, documents can be posted directly into SAP from the Microsoft Power Platform. “One way we’ll use this capability is for a requirement notification application on Microsoft Power Platform to generate an order in SAP,” said Dartsch. Not only is yunIO able to satisfy these technical requirements, but also meets security standards. Dartsch noted that yunIO offered a high degree of transparency. “The log files can be monitored very easily and efficiently so that problems can be identified and resolved quickly,” he said. With all of the advantages Heytex has realized with yunIO, for Dartsch the biggest benefit is simplicity. SAP data can be made available on the Microsoft Power Platform in just a few minutes. “It sets up a REST service. Even someone with no programming skills can do it.”
